Each week we’ll be profiling one of our Super Bowl 50 Host Committee volunteers, learning a bit more about how and why they got involved with the Host Committee Volunteer Program.
This week our volunteer spotlight is on Carli Thomas from Healdsburg.
SB50: Why are you volunteering for the San Francisco Bay Area Super Bowl 50 Host Committee?
CT: I am volunteering because I love sports, especially football and what it can and has done for communities. People gather around a particular player or rivalry and take pride in sports. I also volunteer because I respect what the Super Bowl 50 Host Committee has envisioned this Super Bowl experience to be–a philanthropic, sustainable, and iconic event and experience for all visitors, players, fans, and hosts.
SB50: How are you involved in the community outside of volunteering with us?
CT: I am a supporter of sports related, and educational events here in San Francisco and all over the North Bay!
SB50: Where is your favorite place in the Bay Area?
CT: My favorite place in the Bay Area is Sonoma County. There’s great food and lots to do and if you want to go to the city, it’s a quick drive down the 101.
SB50: Do you have a favorite Super Bowl memory?
CT: I don’t have an exact favorite Super Bowl memory, but I am a huge San Francisco 49ers fan!
