On Friday, February 5 Grammy-nominated pop rock band OneRepublic performed at The City Stage presented by Levi’s® as a part of the Super Bowl 50 Host Committee’s free concert series at Super Bowl City.
Super Bowl City presented by Verizon, centered in Justin Herman Plaza on the Embarcadero at the foot of San Francisco’s Market Street, is designed to showcase the best the Bay Area has to offer, with interactive games, and activities that highlight the region’s technological prowess, culinary excellence and cultural diversity. Levi Strauss & Co. is the official founding legacy partner of the San Francisco Bay Area Super Bowl 50 Host Committee.
OneRepublic formed in Colorado Springs in 1996, but didn’t release their debut album Dreaming Out Loud until 2007. The lead single off Dreaming Out Loud was “Apologize,” which became a huge international success, especially after being remixed by Timbaland. It reached number one in sixteen countries and earned the group a Grammy nomination. Soon after, the second single “Stop and Stare” reached colossal success as well, and the album soon received Platinum certification. OneRepublic’s third album, Native (2013) became the band’s first album to reach the top ten of the U.S. Billboard 200, peaking at number 4. The single “Counting Stars” became one of the band’s most successful singles, reaching number two in the United States and selling over 8 million copies worldwide.
